The Balm of Gilead Salve

We make The Balm of Gilead Salve from our own wild-harvested Balsam Poplar buds (aka Cottonwood buds). We infuse the fresh buds in Organic Olive Oil to create a beautiful healing salve for wounds, bruises, soreness, injury, inflammation and burns.

Balsam Poplar buds can have amazing wound-healing and anti-infection properties. The powerful resins in this plant will definitely soothe pain. And those same resins will cover and protect wounds. In our experience, we’ve had nasty cuts heal quickly and cleanly by using this amazing plant.

Some of our customers have also had great success treating dry skin and rashes, and dry wintertime cracking on the hands.

It’s pure and simple. Really, there’s nothing in it but Balm of Gilead buds, organic olive oil and beeswax.

Because Cottonwood buds contain natural salicin, you shouldn’t use The Balm of Gilead Salve if you are allergic to Aspirin.
