Rubus idaeus, leaf.
This is wild-harvested Raspberry Leaf from our own property, picked before flowering in the early summer. We pick it at its peak and dry it conscientiously to keep it vibrant and green and full of aroma and flavour. This is truly a premium botanical.
Raspberry leaf’s most famous traditional use is as a uterine tonic during pregnancy. It’s also recommended in cases of excessive menstrual bleeding and cramping. More generally, it is viewed as a tonic and astringent for the smooth muscles of the body, and a help in maintaining connective tissue.
It’s high in calcium, iron, manganese, B-vitamins and Vitamin C. Other traditional uses include: as a mouthwash for gingivitis or cankers and as a wash for sunburn and eczema.
As with many herbs, the quality available in the market varies widely. You can find Raspberry Leaf for half or even a quarter of our price. If you have a chance to compare ours to what is widely available commercially, we think you’ll understand the difference.
